The Super Affiliate – How to send a single email and “Make a Fortune” (Part 2)

Finding the Right Affiliate Products to Promote:

So, now you’ve joined an affiliate network.  Good for you. How do you determine which products you want to promote?  I have two primary criteria I use for that.

1.  The first criteria is that I look for products that I have a personal interest in.  One of the keys to my success in online marketing is selling and promoting things that personally excite me, that I would use, that mean something to me, and that other people would like and get benefit from.  If you are trying to promote a product that does not mean something to you personally, you will have a difficult time writing enticing ads that will make people want to click through to the product website.  In ClickBank, there are tens of thousands of products in so many different categories.  Just click into the “MarketPlace” and start looking at what is there.  You will definitely find products of interest that are very desirable to a lot of people.

2.  The other main criteria I use, after finding a product that personally interests me (and that would benefit others) is determining if it will pay me good commissions.  So, you want to see what commission you will make from that product.  You also want to look at the product’s landing page to see if you like it.  If the company has a very good landing page, then it will convert well from site visitor to sale, which means more commissions for you.  But even if the product is good, if the landing page is not good, you may not make many or any commissions.   That is an important point.

I also do a bit of research in Google to see if there is a good target market out there for the product I want to promote OR if there is TOO MUCH competition with it already.  Some google searches can quickly give you those answers.  If your searches show that a lot of people are searching for this type of product, that is a good thing.  And even if there is a decent amount of competition, meaning existing websites and sponsored ads selling or promoting this type of product, that’s OK.  It means there is a good market for this product.

Also, many of the other ads could be for other products, not the one you plan on promoting.   Look into it, and find out.  Some competition is good.  It shows this product is desirable in the market place.  But if the competition is absolutely HUGE (like many health products are, for instance), then I may stay away from this one and look for something else.  You need to feel it out.  Do some research before you join that particular affiliate product program, so you don’t waste time and money promoting it.

Beyond those main criteria, there are certain metrics that you look at to further determine if it is a worthwhile product to get involved with, but the space is too short here to get into all of that.  I teach affiliate marketing to the people who join me on my team as a means to making multiple streams of income – in addition to the primary business opportunity (that pays out $2000 commissions).  If you decide to join me, you will learn how to do very effective affiliate marketing to make a lot of money.

How Do You Promote (Market) The Affiliate Products?:

So, now you’ve got your first affiliate product picked out, you joined that particular affiliate program, you have your affiliate ID and your affiliate link code.  Now what?  You have to market it.  One of the fastest ways to get high quality, very targeted click-throughs is via Pay Per Click (PPC) ads such as Google AdWords.

Other effective types of online marketing used by all the professional affiliate marketers are:

article marketing, press release marketing, ezine marketing, social media marketing and creating a lead capture page so you can build and market to your list (which we will cover in future articles)
