I am originally from Australia (which is why I have such an accent when you listen to my videos) and moved to the United States with my wife in 1991. We live in Western Washington State, in small rural town, not far from the state capitol of Olympia. It is really beautiful here with many forests, mountains and water-ways. My family and I are avid outdoor enthusiasts and enjoy many of the great activities that are virtually right on our doorstep such as skiing, hiking, biking and sailing on the Puget Sound. I believe in creating a balance between work time and play time. Money is important, but living life and having fun is important too.
About My Internet Marketing Career:
I’ve been an internet marketer since the late 1990’s and have been involved in a number of very successful ventures over the years. I helped to build and promote some now very well-known internet properties including the hammocks.com website which I co-founded and is now the flagship business of a publically traded company. Most recently however, I have been primarily involved with e-commerce marketing, where you build a website from scratch and sell products online. Shortly after my daughter was born in 2002, my wife was not reinstated by her company after her maternity leave. This was rather devastating for us both at the time because we relied heavily on her steady income, but in hindsite really proved to be the launching pad to a new and very fruitful existence for us. We used the opportunity to create our very own online business and began to make ourselves wealthy (instead of other people). The business grew in leaps and bounds until we had 5 full-time staff and were able to sell for a substantial sum of money in early 2008.
That business was a great and lucrative journey but really a lot of work. In fact, during those years, many friends and acquaintances often asked me how they could make money online too. I never had a good, easy answer for them, because it truly wasn’t easy to do. I was working really hard to be successful at internet marketing with an ever-changing website and products and vendors and employees. Most people don’t want to go through all that, so, I never really had a good easy answer for people.
One of the turning points in my career came about when I decided to join the now famous group of internet marketers known as Stompernet. When Stompernet launched it made internet history as the largest and most successful launch ever, grossing an unheard of amount of about $18 million in about the first hour. The tremendous power and leverage of the internet and the ability to make huge amounts of money in a relatively short time was unveiled in that momentous event and the entire course of online marketing was changed as well overnight. I feel privileged to have been taught and mentored by the people that masterminded that event and literally rewrote the book on how to succeed online. From that point on my business really took a turn and I began to appreciate just how important it is to align yourself with successful people right from the start.
Well, after we sold the business and took a year and a half off to play around and travel, I knew I still wanted to make money online, but this time, I wanted to do it very differently than before. I realized that selling physical products to people was a lot of work and decided that I would look for an opportunity in which information and informational products were the currency. I also realized that it was important to find a business in which the commissions were sizable and that good mentoring and training was also available.
Well, thank goodness, I found exactly what I was looking for with YourNetBiz.
